iPad Versus Playbook an Easy Decision

Well it was only a matter of time before Apple's chief competitor played catch up

in the tablet market Apple has been running away with since their release of the iPad Introducing the Blackberry Playbook announced late yesterday that will attempt to compete and expectantly garner some of the market share in this growing niche' space.

Now which one is better? I am somewhat biased to Apple because I feel that all their products are superior to Blackberry because I've used an iPhone since they were introduced back in 2007 and never looked back. I have experimented with some Blackberry smartphones and think they are a cumbersome bunch much like the computer mouses used to be before adding the now popular optical or laser technology, back and forth between browser pages capability, and of course the scrolling ball In short, the newer versions of the mouse, like the iPhone, are much more user friendly which translates to better productivity.

I do not own an iPad but have been to the Apple store several times to try them out, and let me tell you, they could easily replace laptops in the near future because of their ease of use; small but efficient design (make sure you get the keyboard docking station); affordable price (compared to a $2500 Mac Book); and their data plans though AT&T, which are more affordable now than their popular airtime cards $60/month versus $25/month.

The only drawback, which is a significant one for now, is their non-compatibility with Adobe Flash Player, and as all of you know, many websites and other software use this technology. The new Playbook is compatible with Flash and is smaller in size 7 inch screen versus iPad's 9.7 inch screen so, it would be less cumbersome carrying around. But when I looked at the specs the main question I had was why would you want to carry a phone, Playbook and your laptop all at once when you could just carry your phone and iPad. Seems like too much technology in too many different places if you ask me.

I'm sure the Blackberry "kool-aid" drinkers will pour out to Best Buy whenever they release the Playbook in 2011, but I think they will ultimately be disappointed and waste money on an unnecessary device.
