Many people have said that the iPad is an over sized an over priced iPod touch. There is no doubt that the iPod touch are similar, but there are crucial differences. The iPod touch is built as a music player and to be portable. The iPad is obviously not very portable because of its size but I believe that the iPad is built to surf the internet and play with all the apps. I think the iPad is a cross between a laptop and a gaming device.
Although the size of the iPad is a big problem for portability it is a huge advantage for watching movies and using the internet, it makes it feel like a laptop. The iPod touch has some fun apps but it does not compare to the iPad when it comes to gaming. The iPad has a much bigger screen making it easier to see what you are doing, runs smoother because it is much more powerful, better graphics and the multi touch technology is far superior.
The iPad also has a vast selection of books to choose from. This makes it great for travellers because carrying loads of books weighs a lot compared to an iPad which weighs just 1.5 pounds. I think the iPad does what the iPod touch does but better however the iPod is much smaller and easier to carry. It is very hard to compare the iPad to anything else because it is the step between an iPod touch and a laptop. I can not say one is better than the other because they have different purposes.
