One of the best things that a child can do when in the young years is to take a lesson in an instrument. Many kids take piano lessons and they do this because their mom and dad make them do it. Piano lessons are the most popular because it is the easiest to find a teacher for, it has the most practical application and the family usually already has a piano in the home. However, not all kids want to play the piano. Some would like to learn how to play the guitar. While this is not the most practical, it is reasonably practical and probably second in line to only the piano as the most practical. One way for the parent and the child to both get what they would like in this manner is to let the child take guitar lessons contingent on their continuing their piano lessons. This also makes the child a lot smarter and able to handle a little bit more. They become talented in both the piano and the guitar and they are able to use those skills throughout their life.
