. Cole. "Only Wanna Give It To You" is Varner's lead single from her debut album entitled Perfectly Imperfect.
The song was written by Elle Varner, Jermaine Lamarr Cole (J. Cole), Frankie Storm, Warren "Oak" Felder and Andrew "Pop" Wansel. Oak & Pop were the producers behind the single. This commercially rich tune is a powerful R&B/hip-hop collaboration, perfect single for a remarkable debut.
The singer's smooth style, seasoned soulful voice and catchy lyrics make "Only Wanna Give It To You" very easy to listen to. In the song Varner successfully pays tribute to hip-hop and R&B sounds that influenced the 90s.

The official release for "Only Wanna Give It To You" was August 16, 2011, the song peaked at number twenty in Billboard's "US Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs". Elle Varner's following single "Refill" reached its peak at number ten.
Her impressive studio album and lead single landed Varner on the "15 Artists to Watch" list featured by TheBoomBox. In 2010 the singer became one of the first artists to join BET's Music Matters campaign. In 2011, after the release of "Only Wanna Give It To You", Varner joined BET's Music Matters campaign for a second year.
The music video premier for Varner's hit single took place on the popular BET show 106 & Park. While conversing with the hosts Elle Varner shared how the J. Cole collaboration came to be. She mentioned meeting Cole in college through a mutual friend from her school, two years later she ran into J. Cole in the Sony building after signing her record deal with J. Records. When planning to start working on her lead single Varner commented that J. Cole was the first choice she considered.
Orson Whales directed the lively and vibrant video for "Only Wanna Give It To You." The music video was shot in New York City and it depicts Varner in different flashy scenarios including her shopping and driving around town with her girls.
