The first day at college, Hotel Management, was full of anxiety. I remember coming out of my bus and we all were made to stand in a line in a queueleft...right left..with all the seniors and superseniors standing around us.

I wanted to hide somewhereprobably hide somewhere and never come out

During the break when we went to the canteen for lunch. A group of seniors were standing in the corridor. We had to address everyone while we passed them. Some wanted us to say. Hail seniors!!! And those in the last termHail super seniors!!!...-when I didn't address one of them he stopped me and scolded me for not wishing himhe later asked me my score in college. When I said 80% in commerce streamhe laughed and asked me if I had come here to wash dishes.Later on in job interviews I realized how no company ever bothered to ask for my certificates. All they ever wanted to know was my practical job experience.

While we were waiting for the canteen doors to openone of the seniorssingled me out and all of them circled round methan came out a barrage of interrogationI had not answered even one that one lecturer came and saved me .We were only 3 girls in class. The other two girls had their siblings as seniors probably that's why I was singled out.

I remember one boy was made to run circular with grass as his tail. (He had to behave like a cow) Some senior told me to hold his tail and run after him. I felt so humiliatedagain I felt god make me so tinyjust hard for them to see.

I was made to sit on a chair. One of them came and told me to get up.Another one came and asked me to sittheir egos clashed and then it beganstand...Sitstand. sit

Somehow I felt they will give up if I cryso I cried and as luck would have it they stopped and asked me to leave the room

I was told to wrestle arm with my classmate who was healthier than me. I didn't even tryI lostand the punishment was hold your ears and standup and sit down ten times.the senior began...1..2..34..5..67I thought now it will end and than he again said456.and than again said3..4and then someone interrupted to end this oh I wish I could hide deep under the benches somewhere! This was the worst I ever felt.

One senior asked me to write a love letter to himI wrote one letter. which sounded rather officialI don't remember much what I had written only that I had kept it official which pissed him off.

In the hostel.the senior girls called me their roomOne of them shouted at me for throwing attitude. Someone had complained about me that I was not doing what was being told. During the time she shouted at me she commanded me to close the bathroom door.(which I don't know why was opening every time)I remember crying all the time;Later when the ragging term was over she came to me and was rather kind and was sorry if it had hurt me

In the bus on the way to the hostelI was asked to propose love to some boysI don't remember how many I proposedbut that was funnyprobably no girl ever had given those senior boys a second look.

The boys in my class were ragged more than thisI think worse.

Before ragging us the seniors told us that it would help them know us better. I thought otherwiseIt was a turn of revenge on what had befallen on them from their seniors.

But I did not rag my juniors.I didn't want them to feel what I wished foroh God make me so tinyjust hard for them to see!
