I admit it, I love a snack. Sometimes I really need that between meal, and other times I just really want it, but regardless I love it. So keeping my weight loss off requires me to snack smartly because I am not willing to buy bigger pants. With that in mind here is my list of the top ten snack options.

Almonds almonds are good for everything from your brain, to your cholesterol, to energy level, to your skin. Almonds are high fiber so they help move stuff through you, packed with protein, and are a great way to hold you over till your next meal. Just stick with regular plain almonds and not the sugar coated, sweetened or chocolate covered variety and stick to a handful per snack.

Baby carrots high in fiber so they fill you up and real easy to quickly snack on. Carrots include high amounts of Vitamins A, K, C fiber and potassium & are by far one of the best sources of beta-carotene. Just skip the ranch dip and snack away.

Jello & fruit I personally love strawberry jello with bananas. This little snack is low in calories and can really satisfy that sweet craving, just remember to get the sugar free jello.

Apple with peanut butter the apple is full of belly filling fiber, the peanut butter is a nice helping of protein combined with a little satisfaction for that sweet tooth. Make sure you get a natural peanut butter without sugar added, this might take a little while to get use to but your waistline will appreciate it.

Yogurt those individual servings of yogurt are great because they do the portion control for you. You can easily find one with around 70 calories that tastes good as well.

Red Grapes high in vitamins , minerals, fiber and antioxidants, oh and delicious! What more could you ask for?

Grapefruit grapefruit is an amazingly strange fruit, it can take your body as many calories to digest it as it contains. Grapefruits are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants as well. To me grapefruit is an acquired taste, or should I say a taste I haven't fully acquired yet but give it a try you just might like it.

Chewing gum I chew gum every day, it is a great way to get a taste you like without pouring on the calories. Find a low calorie flavor you like and chew away, remember chewing is a calorie burning activity so enjoy.

10. Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds these are my favorite snack and my go to cheat snack. Sure dark chocolate contains antioxidants and can help with heart heath and we already went through the benefits of almonds, but there is a pretty high calorie price to pay, especially if you like me and can't just eat a handful. But sometimes you have to allow yourself a little guilty pleasure to make all the hard work a little easier to do.
