Ballenas Beach, Cancun by:Rosa Carvajal

Playa Ballenas, meaning Whales Beach, is located within approximately 14.5 kilometer of the Hotel Zone strip. This beach happens to be situated among the most extraordinary structures in the zone, just north of the Cancun Palace Hotel and south of Le Meridien Resort & Spa. Although the beach starts off with some large rocks following Boulevard Kukulcan, it immediately turns into a beautiful and spacious environment. If it weren't a public place, I would go as far as saying that one could claim it's own little piece of beach. The water is can't be described a none other but spectacular with unique white sand and bright blue skies. During a stroll one is greeted with turquoise-blue waters and incredibly playful waves. Being in this particular beach was pretty much like being in paradise. As a matter of fact, hotel waiters come to you right on the beach offering a variety of drinks and meals. Some fun activities perfect for this area are jet skiing, parasailing, and of course, banana boat rides. Swimming, however, is something to be cautious about due to the strong winds. As you walk down the stretch between Cancun Palace and Le Meridien, don't be surprised to see jet skiers zooming...more

Chac Mool Beach, Cancun by:Rosa Carvajal

Playa Chac Mool is located 10 km in the Hotel Zone. The word Chac Mool is the name given to the Mayan sculpture of a Mayan god reclined with knees bended and a pot over his belly. I'm not sure why this beach is called Chac Mool, but if I had to guess I'd say it's because the beauty of this place is such that it could've only been created by a...more

Punta Cancun, Cancun by:Rosa Carvajal

Punta Cancun is aptly translated to Cancun Tip, because this area is right on the tip of Cancun's 7-shaped coast line. This is definitely one of the most popular areas of the Hotel Zone in Cancun. This particular place is the main area for nightclubs, bars, and an array of restaurants. It is really at night when this place really comes to life. At...more

Caracol Beach, Cancun by:Rosa Carvajal

Playa Caracol, meaning snail or seashell, is situated 8.5 km in the Hotel Zone. If you're looking to have some more active kind of fun, then Caracol Beach is your best bet. It is considered one of the nicer and most popular beaches due to its flat shallow sand bed. Playa Caracol provides beachgoers with one of the safest beaches, as far as currents, in the area. In fact, what caught my attention the most about this beach is that its sapphire-blue waves remain calm regardless of the waves in the neighboring beaches. There are also tiny little rocks embedded in the sand as well as countless marvelous seashells, which is where this beach gets its name. One could definitely spend hours just admiring those seashells and even the tiny rocks, which seem to capture the sun light in a sort of magical way. As expected, due to its popularity, Playa Caracol is one of the most crowded beaches in Cancun. Also, due to the shallow waters, this beach is ideal for families. This is an ideal location for all sorts of water sports including swimming, sail-boarding, water skiing, pedal bikes, and parasailing. As one can observe from our virtual tour, jet skis are readily available right on the shore....more

Playa Delfines, Cancun by:Rosa Carvajal

Playa Delfines, or Dolphins Beach, is without argument and literally one of the highest points in Cancun. It is situated about 18km within the Hotel Zone and it is near Punta Nizuc. This beach begins where Kukulcan Blvd curves into a hill. Because,...more
