The game is played between two teams. Each team consists of seven players. It developed as a individual sport in England in the 1890s.

During general play a player may well take only one step with the ball in hand before passing it. A player cannot grasp the ball for more than three seconds.
Only assigned shooting players can make goals.
Each game goes on for sixty minutes. This one hour is divided in to 15 minute quarters. The team with the most goals at the end of the 60 minutes wins.
Netball is thought to be played by over 20 million people.
The International Federation of Netball Associations was shaped in 1960 to administer the sport worldwide.

The netball court is slightly larger than a basketball court. The dimension of the netball is 30.5 m long and 15.25 m wide.
The longer sides of the court are called side lines plus the shorter sides are called goal lines. The goal lines are also famous as backliners.
The ball used in netball be similar to a basket ball. The netball is much lighter in load and smaller than a basket ball. The seven players on each team are given nominated, positions. The seven place are the Goal shooter, Goal keeper, Goal attack, Goal Defense, wing attack, wing Defense plus Centre.
The Asian Netball finals which is held every four years held its 6th tournament in 2005. The Singaporean squad won the tournament.
