subject: Information About Gary Brooks Faulkner [print this page]

For those of you who dont know yet MrFor those of you who dont know yet Mr. Faulkner is the American who was arrested in Afghanistan while on his self designed mission to kill Osama bin Laden. He is a fifty year old American who has lost most of the functions of his kidneys and has to undergo dialysis several times a week. I gathered from reading about him that he figures to be on his way out anyway (he thinks that he will die soon). So he wanted to do at least one good deed for the world before he departed in death.

One thing which is somewhat puzzling is that Mr. Faulkner has a number of arrests on his records so why the sudden turn around now? He seems to have a legitimate change of heart. At first I thought that the fifty million dollar bounty on Mr. bin Ladens head had something to do with Faulkners motivation to kill him but now I am not sure at all.

Mr. Faulkner is a construction contractor who resided in Colorado. He was accosted in a very remote area along the Afghanistan/Pakistan border where conditions are so difficult that much of the time drones cant fly.

He is a little bit weird but still you have to respect his intentions. According to his brother he has been obsessed with capturing or killing Mr. bin Laden since the bombing of the world trade center in 2011. He felt that he was on a mission from God. Now the thing about this is that sometimes people with this kind of twisted logic are actually able to get through and do some major damage. I really dont think that Mr. Faulkner would have been able to do so but you never know. Wouldnt that have been a kick? If this lone American armed with a pistol and a sword could have been able to do what the United States government with all of its technology has not been able to do for nine years?

Mr. Faulkner was prepared to die while conducting his own little clandestine operation. He had been in Pakistan about half a dozen times before doing reconnaissance and building his cover. He felt that he had a better chance of killing bin Laden because he was a lone civilian who would not draw much attention. Once again you have to admire his misguided warrior spirit.

Mr. Faulkner claims that God sent him to kill bin Laden in retaliation for the Sep 11 2001 bombing of the world trade center. God must have been with him though because he was captured before he was beheaded himself. His logic is sadly misconstrued and I dont think that he would have got very far at all before losing his own life.

He obviously found the weapons that he had on the black market in one of the two countries because of what they were. His intention was to catch and decapitate Mr. bin Laden.

Afghanistan officials will question him to determine the level of his psychological competence. I say let him go. At least he was trying to solve a world problem. He had the guts to do more than talk or criticize the present government for not having captured Mr. bin Laden yet. As a matter of fact we should give him some food, weapons, ammunition, maps, and intelligence and send him on the mission that he desires to go on.

I am sure that we have various operations ongoing to capture or kill Mr. bin Laden that the public will never know about. I say that we leave Mr. Faulkner alone and let him do his thing. We do want Mr. bin Laden dead, right? Or is it that we need to keep him alive to exploit his name, meaning to give ourselves a cover to conduct other monetary operations? Military Ring Express
