subject: Add A Cozy Feel To Your Home [print this page]

Your home is a reflection of yourselfYour home is a reflection of yourself. If you have just moved into a home you may not be pleased with the feeling that you get. When you are ready to decorate there are several different things that you can do and ways to decorate on a budget to get the look that you want to achieve. Here are some tips to help.

Pictures say 1,000 words or at least that is what they say. If you want to decorate why not decorate with what you already have in your home, pictures. You can place pictures of different shapes and sizes all around your home; on shelves, on corners, and more.

Pictures can sit on shelves and display your children's smiling faces or you and your spouse enjoying a nice walk in the park. It's amazing at how your pictures can look even better than a painting that may hang on the wall.

Consider adding wood furniture to your living area. Wood furniture has a traditional look and feel to the room and this is a feeling that most everyone is comfortable with. Wooden furniture is also easy to decorate and blend into your current decor.

Add peace and tranquility to your home by using earth tones to your decor; brown tones, gray, white, blues, greens, and more can be added to any home decor. This can calm and soothe anyone.

You can also create individual welcoming spots in the home by placing area rugs down in certain areas. You can make a small room to the side of a very large room by placing an area rug down on the floor and set a table on top. This can distinctly be seen as a separate area.

Finally, tasteful window drapes are a great way to decorate your home. Window drapes absorb sound very well, muffling loud noises in your home. This reduces any possible intrusions into your peace and quiet and gives you the sense of being safe and secure within your own space.

Use the tips above to create your touch in a new home or a home you have lived in for years. Make it yours and personalize it to make you happy.
