subject: Do You Have Good Advertising Or Not? [print this page]

Whatever we do, advertising seem to catch up on us for the simple fact that it is everywhere. We are obviously bombarded on every side with marketing messages that convince us to purchase a product or service.

It is indeed a fact that businesses and companies spend millions of dollars in advertising just so people will recognize them and thus, increase their chances of getting sales. But there is also such a thing as a good and bad advertising. As a business owner, you should know whether your marketing campaign is effective or not.

Good advertising, whether it is poster printing or a newspaper ad, has the power to make people stop and take notice. Good advertising means being able to influence the buying decisions of your target audience. Great marketing is having your sales shoot up significantly and profits increasing considerably.

Marketing is a means for you to create awareness of your products and services. It can help you communicate messages, emotions, thoughts, ideas and concepts to attract your target audience. And good advertising does just that it helps you provide your desired effects for the growth of your business.

So how would you know if you have good advertising or not? By way of your design. A great design will always get you attention and appeal from your target clients. Learning how to create one to convey your message can go a long way in getting you the favorable outcome you expect from your marketing campaign.

But creating a design is a craft. It is not learned overnight. If you need to do it yourself and you do not want to hire a professional graphic artist to help you, here are some principles you need to consider:

It should be unique.

With thousands of ads seen by your target clients every day and every minute, it is no wonder that your ad, whether it is poster printing or greeting cards, should be unique to attract the attention of your target audience. No matter how good your design, if it is as generic as that of your competition, you will have a difficult time convincing your target clients of your value. Your ad should be able to stand out against all other print posters, and people should not be able to resist stopping and looking at what you have to say.

It should communicate well.

You need first to identify your target market in order for you to communicate well with them. Figure out what would make them respond to your message. The more specific you are with the group of people you are targeting, the better it would be for your marketing campaign to showcase a custom message that fit what they are looking for.

It should be legible.

So you have a great design. But can your target audience read it? Were they able to understand what you have written in your print posters for example? Your target audience should not have to work to understand what you are getting at. If you make it simple and easy for them to understand your message, the faster it would be for your target clients to act on your offer.
