Good news: Sky Movies is bringing forward all its new Premieres by a day! And this day is on Friday!! Come on! The new year couldn't get off to a more spectacular start as 007 Daniel Craig picks up where he left off in Casino Royale for the blistering follow-up, Quantum Of Solace. But he'll need to be on his toes, what with Beverly Hills Chihuahua nipping at his heels from New Year's Day and plenty of female distractions to be found in My Best Friend's Girl and Bride Wars. Another engrossing war story finds Kate Winslet at her Oscar-winning best in The Reader, and there's more top quality drama with nun Meryl Streep laying Catholic guilt on Philip Seymour Hoffman's priest in Doubt, and Samuel L Jackson stirring up trouble with the neighbours in Lakeview Terrace. Fans of the supernatural will enjoy Keifer Sutherland playing Jack Bauer on sabbatical in Mirrors and the horrifying shocks and pregnant pauses of The Unborn. Besides Bond, we'll be keeping energy levels Sky-high throughout January with a barrage of eye-catching actioners starring the likes of Mark Wahlberg (mean and moody as comic-book hero Max Payne), Keanu Reeves (eco-conscious and alien in sci-fi remake The Day The Earth Stood Still), Jason Statham (cool as ice and hard as nails in high-octane sequel Transporter 3) and Tom Cruise (a one-eyed, Hitler-hating Nazi in truth-based WWII thriller Valkyrie). More offbeat treats find Tilda Swinton up to her neck in booze and kidnapping as Julia and Sam Rockwell generating edgy laughs in Choke, adapted from Chuck Palahniuk's typically scabrous novel. But whatever you do, don't miss Waltz With Bashir, an astonishing fantasy-documentary about war in the Middle East. Nominated for Best Animated Feature at 2009's Oscars, it's what HD was made for. 2009 Dubai International Film Festival opening ceremonyFashionable film--Sex and the City 2 Copyright reserved by go4uggboots.com About the Author:
