Savour some syrupy Urdu as Mahmood Farooqui reinvents the ancient art of story telling. He will narrate episodes from Tilism-e-Hoshruba, which recounts travel tales of the Prophets uncle, Amir Hamza. At Museum Theatre on 3rd Dec." From Madison to Madurai is a hilarious account of how the temple at Rameshwaram was built. It will be narrated by Britton, in his inimitable style, on 4th Dec at Museum Theatre.
Anusha Lall will display her dancing and choreographing skills on 5th Dec. A percussion score will form the backdrop as she performs Tilt along with other artistes (Veena Basavarajaiah, Mandeep Raikhy & Mehneer Sudan). This contemporary dance performance is more of an exploratory work, using the movement vocabulary of Bharatanatyam. The musical score is by Suchet Malhotra, Vetri Boopathy and Samrat Bhardwaj.
Kalakshetra Auditorium will play host to Dhruba Ghoshs musical performance on 6th Dec. The subject matter will include Shiva and Shakti, depicted through ragas. Ghosh is renowned for having transformed the classical sarangi into an instrument of multi-dimension expression. His technique, composition and mastery have made him one of the living masters today. Ben Riepe will perform a piece on beauty and ugliness, along with his well known dance company, on 6th Dec at Kalakshetra Auditorium.
