subject: End The Madness With The Ultimate Weight Loss Program [print this page]

People are confused more than ever about effective weight loss. They don't know how to achieve the body they want. How important is diet versus exercise? Which are the best diets that work? What are the best exercises to burn belly fat? Are there foods that burn fat?

People workout on the treadmill, exercise equipment like a stair-climber or elliptical, trying to burn calories and fat. Some do weight lifting several times a week to build strength and muscle. They might take aerobics or a spin class too, not understanding that cardio is not the best way to lose weight.

Many try one of the latest fad diets that promises to take weight off fast but never promises to keep it off, you notice. Or they may try a fad fat loss supplement such as acai or hoodia hoping to lose weight and get rid of tummy fat. If any of those worked, you, me and Oprah would all be thin by now, right?

Some people weigh themselves once a day or even more, believing the number on the scale is ultimate indicator of their progress. If it goes up a pound or two, they may starve themselves for the next day, not understanding that they are wreaking havoc on their metabolism. This now makes their long term goals even harder to achieve.

Sometimes it seems we want to reduce fat fast even at the expense of our health, fitness, and common sense. We lose sight of what really matters is eating a healthy diet and being fit so we can be strong, healthy, and have good energy.

With most diet or fitness programs, you can initially lose weight fast. Much of that is water weight, especially if you are following one of the high protein diets. The more you weight, the easier it is to reduce fat fast, but often the progress slows down. When that diet programs lets you down, it's on to the next one, and the cycle of confusion continues.

I believe the main reason so many people get the results they desire is that they are constantly jumping from one fad diet or exercise routine to another. They are not exercising the most effective way and are trying to stick to a restrictive diet that no one could possibly live with. They lose sight of the fundamentals that actually work.

So what exactly is the ultimate weight loss program? It's choosing a healthy plan of eating nutritious food, drinking lots of pure water, sticking with an effective exercise program, getting plenty sleep and reducing stress as much as possible. That's it!
