subject: Learning About Park City Ski Resorts [print this page]

When most people think of Park City, Utah the first picture that comes to mind is snow covered mountains and the site for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Then when writing about Park City life it would be nearly impossible to not discuss their impeccable ski lodges and ritzy resorts.

Park City Mountain Resort is one of the many resorts found in and around the city that offers world class powder to satisfy all of your winter outdoor activity needs. They offer family packages and boast continued visitors from every corner of the world.

This particular resort offers rentals and repairs on snow gear, resort shopping, dining, catering and event planning, guest photos, historic tours of downtown (originally known for its Silver Mining), and ride shares, if you are worried about preserving the environment.

Ski lessons for all levels of skiers are also available and special events and activities are an everyday part of the winter season. Some of the local events and activities include the Alpine Coaster, a roller coaster to take you down the slopes like you've never ridden them before, sleigh rides, snowmobiling and tubing.

If you aren't the skiing or snowboarding type, tubing might be the perfect alternative for you. Gorgoza Park offers seven lighted tubing lanes. Each of these lanes is served by a lift in order to better accommodate you and your family.

If you have heard of the Sundance Film Festival you have heard about Park City as well, even though you may not know it. The festival, occurring in January each year, takes place at the Sundance ski resort, just down the mountain from the city, with PC playing host to a number of films and celebrities as well.

The Canyons Resort can also be found in the city. This ski resort features many of the same amenities found at the Park City Mountain Resort. They do offer a few unique and interesting events and activities each year though.

For instance, on December 19, 2009 the first 50 guests to show up in full Santa gear get to ski or ride, whatever their preference, for free. On the 23rd-25th of December, Santa will ski down the slopes handing out treats to all the good girls and boys.

Rail jams, for snowboarders who love to ride the rails, are held on a regular basis during the winter months as well, so that these talented riders can show off their skills.

Deer Valley Resort is also not lacking in its appeal as it offers events and a wide variety of lodging and dining options.

When you are planning your next ski trip or vacation, don't forget about this great city. They have activities for every person, whether you love to be outside in the cold, or cuddled up by the fireplace.

Don't forget that it is a great place to live and work, especially if you love the winter sports, and being among the artsy bunch while still enjoying a lavish lifestyle.
