A lot has been said but the least has been done especially with reference to women empowerment. This is the usual criticism of people around us. The Gurgaon College of Engineering For Women has not only defied these sorts of thoughts and critics but also proved how an institution can live up to its commitment for uplift and empowerment of women. This institute is for the women of tomorrow. This institute is managed by Shree Krishna Educational Trust. This institute is not only approved by the AICTE but also affiliated to the M.D.U. Rohtak. It is located on national highway number 8 at Bilaspur-Tauru Road at Gurgaon in the State of Haryana.

Uniqueness

The institute has adopted innovative practices and thus is a unique educational institute. For the fresh students an orientation program is organized so that the students know about the discipline that has to be maintained in the campus. A unique teacher-guardian system has been introduced. By this unique system the teacher has to monitor the students progress in studies, as well as, extra curricular activities. The teacher has to provide necessary support and counseling. The institute reports the progress of the student to the parents. The institute takes keen interest in offering extra coaching if necessary for weak students. This institute also assists the students to get the placement of their choice, by conducting group discussions and mock interviews. The facilities provided at the institute include white boards, LCD, OHP, computerized library, bank, medical services, uninterrupted power supply for the whole campus, hostels, spacious class rooms and last but not the least, 24x7 security for the campus including the hostel.

The institute offers 4 B.Tech Courses namely

Computer Science and Engineering

Electronics and Communications Engineering

Information Technology

Electrical and Electronics Engineering

All these courses are approved by the AICTE. Each course has a maximum intake of 90 seats except for Electrical and Electronics Engineering course wherein the maximum intake is 30. These seats include the management seats and seats on the basis of merit. The candidate should have cleared the 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks from a recognized Board or university.

Departments

There are 5 departments in this institute, namely Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Applied Science, and Information and Technology. These departments take pride in having faculty that is well equipped, qualified and experienced to guide the students in the best possible way. The faculty sees to it that the students develop in all walks of life. The faculty also motivates the students to take part in seminars and presentations.

Faculty

The Faculty at Gurgaon College of Engineering for Women is one of the best and most experienced. The Director, Prof S.S. Rawat not only has a PhD. Degree but also has 14 research papers to his credit. Most of the faculties are postgraduates with either M. Tech or M.Sc. or a higher qualification. For ECE there are two faculty members, for CSE there are 3 and for ME there are 3. It is the knowledge of these faculty members that makes Gurgaon College of Engineering for Women one of the best colleges for women.
