The Hundred
This is a classic Pilates mat exercise that requires proper breathing and body movement coordination. To practice breathing, you lie on your back and relax your muscles. Breath in through the nose and out through the mouth for several times until you get used to it. Now, rest your hands on your side and raise your legs up to 45-degree angle. Lift your head and neck from the mat up to a certain level and engage your abdominals while doing this. When raising your head, make sure you are looking into your abdomen. Breathe out as you raise your head and engage your abdomen and in when you are about to lay your head back. Do this for 10 repetitions.
The Roll Up
This is another exercise for the core or the abdomen. Lie on your back, hands on the side and breathe in. Then, raise both arms upwards - just over your head and breathe in. Next, raise your upper body up to a sitting position just in 4 counts. Breathe one slowly while doing this until you reach out towards your feet. Breathe in again and slowly go back to your original position on 8 counts. This is good for 6 repetitions.
