subject: The Ballgown is Back [print this page]

A ballgown is a formal dress that has a fitted bodice and flared skirt. The skirt is normally flared by adding crinoline underneath it. It is a full-skirt dress that flows all the way to the floor. There is a plethora of fabrics used in the construction of ballgowns including satin, silk, taffeta, and organza. Ballgowns are decorated with many different elements. These include pearls, sequins, lace, embroidery, ruffles, and ruching. The skirts of ball gowns can be straight, scalloped, or embellished with pick-ups. The ball gown prom dress has a certain appeal that looks great with a particular kind of accessory palette. This includes gloves, necklaces, bangles, clutches, and cocktail rings. All of these unique and exciting accessories are available at Cinderella's Closet as well.
