subject: Maximize Bathroom Space With Small Corner Bathtubs [print this page]

When moving from one house to the next you are going to find that there are some compromises that must be made. Not every room is going to meet your exact specifications in terms of size and configuration. You may find that your kitchen is exactly what you want while the bathroom is just the tiniest bit pokey. When it comes to the bathroom there are some ways that space may be recaptured without having to carry out a major renovation.

Space is often at a premium in the bathroom, particularly when you have to fit in a shower, bathtub, washbasin and, in some cases, the toilet. There are places that it is possible to make up space and one of those is the bathtub and shower.

Rather than sticking with a full-sized bathtub plus a shower unit you have the option of combining the two by placing the shower in the tub. Even greater space saving opportunities are available by using a small corner bathtub unit. These units provide ample room for showering facilities without taking up a lot of room in the bathroom. As long as you dont expect to be lazing full length in a bath there should be no problems at all in using this kind of a unit.

The option of a high sided bathtub or a lower side will be available to you. The choice you make should be based on the use you expect to get out of the bathtub and how easy you wish to make entry into the shower. If you have young children who will be using the bathtub for bathing it may be necessary to buy a slightly deeper tub. Otherwise the access into and out of the shower will become your priority and the lower sides will be to your benefit.
