subject: Is A Christian Discipleship Gap Year Right For Me? [print this page]

Right now, others just like you are considering taking off for a Christian gap year. One year out of ones life to devote entirely to spiritualism. If you are among these people then one question that you may be pondering, is exactly how to spend your gap year. For sure you definitely want to do something that will make the absolute best out of each and every day of that time you spend.

In the past, young people would often simply take off on a mission of exportation. Traveling about, while keeping their eyes and ears open for opportunities to do gods work. Sure there are fellow Christians and churches all across the land to be encountered but after all was said and done; all too often their memories were dominated by regrets - people who could have gained more from their gap year.

This is why organizations with names like DNA have now stepped forward to offer a series of courses in Christian discipleship. They have three levels to choose from and the maximum level will earn a participant a nationally recognized Credit Certificate that can be used towards a diploma and or degree courses in areas relating to Christian ministry.

Now this isn't free but costs are very reasonable, considering it is fully accredited by OCNSR under license from the National Open College Network or the NOCN. Also upon completion, a participant can come away having earned up to 66 college units, which means that you will take away both tangible as well as intangible rewards from this program.

DNA is a thrilling one year voyage of church based discipleship in the context of Christian mission. It's specifically designed for people who recognize their needs to be useful in the kingdom of God but who are also humble enough to recognize their need for personal development. It's for you if you want to be in for the long term. This isn't about a short burst by any means. Rather this lays solid foundations for life.

DNA has been spoken of by many of the some 900+ people who have completed it as not just the best year of their lives, but also the most difficult. So why then do the applicants keep coming if it is such a challenging course on Christian discipleship? As it turns out the answer to that question is quite complex.

It's described as a time when a person can give god the space thats required to make one whole inside. Also it's a when one can give God an opportunity to help shape ones character. Also it's a time when one can give god permission to take him at his or her word. One of the prime goals of DNA is to develop a person in three core areas and those would be your character, your skills and your understanding.

Even so, no matter which direction you take for your Christian Gap year, it is imperative if you have a scholarship to a university that you study and understand their policies on students who take a Christian gap year off before beginning formal studies. Also make sure that as you study their policies, that you make sure that there are going to be no changes to them during your year off.
