I would like to become an MT because in this case I will have a job instead of being unemployed, a job that is not so far from the core of my study (I am a student in the Faculty of Pharmacy). High unemployment rate is threatening and especially here in Egypt, it is not guaranteed that I can find a job when I graduate, even if I found one, the income won't be satisfactory. I was amazed when I knew that there are jobs that I can apply for through the internet and I can work at home, I searched a lot of stay at home jobs, I was lucky to find a job that is related to the medical field and my study (pharmacy) so that it wont be hard for me to have the knowledge and basics that are required in performing the MT duties perfectly. Advantages of working in the MT industry include: Satisfactory incomes, I found that the average medical transcription salary are in the range 10$ to 20$ per hour which can be considered as an impossible income to get when I graduate.
Of course the flexibility of the job is very beneficial, I can work at home which mean I dont have to suffer from transportation, crowd and time waste if I got a job in a place far away from my home, beside that I can spend a lot of time with my family and friends or even in any kind of activities and have fun. Working at home means also that I can work on my own pace, no tension, no tough competitions with colleagues and no orders from higher bosses. MT industry is also beneficial for me in which it could improve my experience in the medical field as a Pharmacist (in the future) since I will get in contact with medical professionals (through the voice records) which will also provide me with a clear and real background about the healthcare practicing and its practitioners outside Egypt. Another benefit is that I can have my own business. Which wont require large capital or overheads, all what I need is my computer and the internet service which that the costs are negligible. This means also that there is no risk or much to lose or fall in debts, which provide security for me. Actually, I am interested to study with Future MT because it provides scholarship programs because it is not affordable for me to pay for the courses offered on the internet by many institutions. After a lot of efforts spent on searching in the internet, I feel that Future MT is not like those who provide courses that wont make me capable of performing the job perfectly, I found on many forums people complaining about the courses they spent money in, and when they got hired by companies they couldn't cope with just one tape. I would like to see myself as a professional MT within two years (the same time I graduate). Then I will keep the job for about five years in parallel with preparing for traveling abroad to the U.S.A. or Europe to continue education and have postgraduate studies while staying as MT to support me with satisfactory income. Away from working in the pharmaceutical industry, I hope I can become an MT tutor within ten years.
