subject: The Three Steps You Must Take Before You Begin Generating Mlm Leads [print this page]

Nearly every business owner has the ability to generate high quality prospects for their network marketing business. There is no shortage of leads out there as more and more people are looking to make the transition from their jobs to a home-based business.

Yet, at the same time networkers often make the mistake of attempting to generate leads without taking the proper steps to identify what type of leads would meet their business objectives.

They spend hours setting up advertising on the internet or making phone calls only to end up back where they started. And oftentimes they end up recruiting people who are the exact opposite of what they wanted in the first place.

If this sounds like something you would like to avoid, pay close attention to the following three steps as they will help you recruit better leads with less effort.

(1) Identify Your Ideal Candidate

Sometimes we get so caught up trying to figure out "how" to recruit, we forget to identify "who" to recruit.

Therefore, you must first perform a deep brainstorm to determine what type of person would be ideal for your mlm team.

Ask yourself questions such as:

Who is my ideal prospect? Include their age range, demographics, income level and such.

What are their needs, concerns, problems?

What are their hopes, dreams, and aspirations?

Answering these questions will allow you to deeper understand your prospects and be able to connect with them on a more personal level.

(2) Recognize That You Won't (and don't need) to Sponsor Everyone

Before you begin to generate mlm leads, accept the fact that not every person is going to be a good fit for you and your team.

Once you've done this, you can customize your marketing message to your ideal recruit. If I were to make a blanket recommendation I would say you're better off marketing to people who are already interested in a Network Marketing or home business.

(3) Get Very Clear on What You Want

Although it might seem selfish at first, it's entirely necessary for you to focus on what you want first. Knowing what you want will allow you to help others get what they want.

For Example: If you know you want an all star team of distributors that will take the your business seriously, you need to know that before you begin crafting your marketing message.

Naturally, this is a process that you'll consistently tweak as you go along. However, now you can more effectively begin the process.

If you've already started, you can make the necessary adjustments to know which types of people to work with and how to know who you should recruit and sponsor.
