subject: Why You Should Not Be Afraid Of Falure [print this page]

One of the main problems facing the new business entrepreneur is the fear of failing. This doesnt apply to everyone of course. Some people are so full of self confidence failure never enters their vocabulary. However, others are not so lucky.

What you dont want is this fear of failing stopping you doing the things you really want in the first place. Fear of Failure destroys your chance of success. In fact it is this avoidance of failure attitude, that has been driven into many of us from a very early age and it is plain wrong. You could go as far to say that failing is essential.

Remember failing and being a failure are not the same thing.

Some people make the mistake of believing that all mistakes are wrong and harmful, when most of it is both helpful and necessary. When things go wrong they should provide the feedback that points the way to success.

Learning through mistakes pushes people to try again with a new and better trial. Ultimately if you keep trying and put failure behind you will find a viable and creative solution. No mistakes and setbacks often mean no success either.

Look at all the successful scientists from the past. They had many failure before finding what they were looking for but they never gave up. The rewards speak for themselves and many of the discoveries from way back are still being used today.

Do not think therefore that failure is unacceptable. It is the inevitable step towards success.

Every strength can become a weakness. Successful people like to win and achieve high standards. This can make them so terrified of failure it ruins their lives. When a positive trait to achieve becomes too strong it can become becoming a major handicap.

Achievement is powerful for many successful people. They achieve at everything they do: school, college, sports, the arts, hobbies, work. Each fresh achievement adds to the power of the value in their lives.

However, it is imperative to have balance. Beware of unbalanced values in your life. Any overwhelming need within your life to succeed at all costs can become so overpowering it destroys everything in its path.

Over-achievers can destroy their own peace of mind and the lives of those around them.

Everyone likes to succeed. The problem comes when fear of failure is dominant. When you can no longer accept the inevitability of making mistakes, nor recognize the importance of trial and error in finding the best and most effective solution.

The more you try new things the more likely you are to make errors and mistakes. Get used to it. Deciding to avoid the mistakes will inevitably destroy your potential too.

You must learn to assess where you went wrong and be honest with your self in order to find the key's that guide you towards fantastic opportunites that surround us everywhere. Like all the great entreprneurs that have built huge success before us, it is certainly possible to turn a lemon into an astonishing achievement.

Learn to use these strategies and very soon you could have the confidence to not only take calculated risks but to relish finding positive nuggets of gold from situations that may on the face of it seem less than certain.
