subject: Tame Yourself Before The Horse Racing! - How Your Energy Can Affect Your Horse Performance In The R [print this page]

We all know that horses are very sensitive animals; we even give them extensive amount of effort just to tame them and to take care of them. We build stable, we feed them, we even provide them blankets for winters and flee blanket during summer. Even though human domesticated horses for centuries, it didnt take away the animals capability to know the changes in their environment.

It is a natural ability for the horses to sense the changes of energy in the atmosphere to guard themselves off from the enemy. The same with humans, these animals can also read body language. So imagine that you are having a bad day, not only do you display anger but you also produces strong energy, the moment you touches your horse, they can immediately feel that you are not in a good mood, that might just scared them away!

So what is the challenge here?

The challenge here is to learn to control your emotions when doing a race. Horses look up to you as their leader, if you are a nervous wreck then he will feel nervous too, if you are excited he will feel excitement, your energy is actually the binding link between you and your horse. However, that is easier said than done, especially seeing the crowds, cheering and anxiously waiting to see their favorite horses win their betting, but having to take at least a moment of calmness before riding on your horse, might just be the key in winning the race.

Here are some pointers on how you can tame yourself before you can tame your horse.

Stand still. Have a good posture, it will help you breath easier and it will pull up your confidence.

Focus on your self. Try not to worry about the crowd and the race. See it as one ride to liberation.

Find your centre, calm your self by seeing your self at the end of the race. It is rewarding to finish it with glory however it is a lot rewarding to finish it safely for you and your horse.

Smile. Smiling is scientifically proven to alleviate some tensions. So try to smile, wave at people and greet your competitors. Youre not trying to be cheesy but youre just being smart.

Lastly, when you found your centre and you are calmed, approach your horse. It is important for them that their master feels sure about themselves and assertive in every way.

These are just few bits of information that I hope you enjoyed. Remember that you and your horse arent just workmates but you are companions. And you as his master should be sensitive about what youre feeling that might affect your horses performance.
