subject: Dive Into Dependability With Techno Marine Watches [print this page]

Diving watches were invented due to some military purposes. Also they were invented for people who dive for a living. Technomarine watches are used in this manner. Diving watches must be water resistant at least to one hundred meters or three hundred thirty feet. Most can go up to nine hundred feet or three hundred meters. However, some watches can go much deeper.

The standards for these watches are set by the International Organization for Standardization. The criteria that diving watches have to meet are established because not just any watch can survive the harsh underwater conditions that diving can present. It's this strict set of rules that allow for a diving watch to hold its title.

The watch cases of diving watches must be water resistant and be able to endure the harshness of seawater. The cases are generally made out of corrosion resistant materials. The watch case must also provide an adequate degree of protection against magnetic fields and shocks.

The outer part of diving watches need to be stronger than the dress watches because it has to stand up to salty sea water and the pressure of deep oceanic work. The sea salt is corrosive which will make a watch rust and defective. Do not worry because there are watches that are made from materials like stainless steel, titanium, ceramic, resins or plastic. The case also has to protect against magnetic fields, bumping and shock.

Elapsed time controls on the bezel of the mens wristwatch allow for divers to see how much time has passed during their dive. The crystals on these watches, sometimes arched for better support, need to be as sturdy as the case of the watch in order to withstand the pressure of the ocean.

Watch craftsmen often fill watches with helium or other air to counteract the pressure from the outside water. When divers are in charge of search and rescue missions or simply have an important job to do, it's vital that their timepieces are functional and dependable. A sturdy, reliable watch is needed when lives or important missions are in jeopardy. Not only will a faulty watch put the subjects of a rescue in more peril, they can also endanger the life of the diver.
