Keep in mind that yeast infection has the tendency to occur again if you dont have the right knowledge on how to prevent it. Prevention is the first line of defence when it comes to fighting all kinds of infection. And yeast infection is no exemption. Now I will provide you some of the most effective preventive measures you can do against yeast infection.

1. Observe Proper Hygiene. Keep in mind that yeast infection is transmitted through physical contact and contacts to things from an infected person. Avoid sharing of towels, underwear or even clothes to avoid the risk of being infected by such dreadful infection.

2. Modify Your Diet. Most people who are suffering from yeast infection have high intake of sugar-rich foods. Keep in mind that yeast feed from sugar. That is why you need to minimize your intake of glucose-rich foods. Manage your carbohydrate intake daily. You can focus on eating foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals. These foods would include green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, lean meat, whole grains and fish. Drink more water each day. You can have green tea instead of having soda every after meal.

3. Avoid constant wearing of tight clothes. Tight clothes will only trigger yeast infection to occur. You will have more chances of getting some areas of your skin to moisten even more because of the tight clothes you are wearing. Thus, increases your chances of developing yeast infection.

4. As much as possible, avoid using scented or perfumed products such as strong perfumes, scented soaps, and scented lotions. These products may contain ingredients that could cause skin irritation. Your skin may be hypersensitive on some chemicals that could cause yeast to grow in numbers.

5. Do not engage in having unprotected sex. Keep in mind that yeast infection can be sexually transmitted. You will never know if the person you are going to have sexual intercourse with has yeast infection or not. So it is best to be on guard than putting yourself at risk by having unprotected sex. Use condoms for safety.

6. Modify your lifestyle for the better. You can start by minimizing your vices such as smoking and drinking of alcoholic beverages. Such vices can cause your immune system to weaken which makes you highly susceptible in developing yeast infection. This is most especially true to those who have history of yeast infection.
