Throughout the history, there have been many management theories developed to give a better understanding to our organizational world. One of the most recognized theories is Tyler"s scientific management theory. In which the applied thinking was taken out of hands of workers. Every action is pre-programmed and there is no thinking involved in for the employees. We can still see organizations in fast food sector utilizing the Tyler"s theories. Many assumptions developed for managing organizations are wrong or out of date because the changing nature of organizations bringing together the need of change in new theory developments.
Management in business and human organization activity is simply the act of getting people together to achieve desired goals. Management embraces planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating and controlling. One of the theories arise reveals that there is only one best way of managing organizations. Organization is an instrument for making people productive in working together. There are also "theory X" and "theory Y" that in theory x people do not want to work and need to be controlled and in theory y people want to work but need to be motivated to accomplish goals. Subordinates and associates cannot be managed in the same way in reality. So, what comprises "management"? I believe the answer to this question is leading the employees not managing as previously assumed in history. Management has always been there to maximize the employees" performance to achieve goals. Therefore, taking advantage of employees" strengths and knowledge is a better way to maximize performance than forcing them. I believed in that there is a best way of managing people via utilizing the most appealing approaches to employees. My opinions are changed and my theory is that there is no one best way of managing and it all depends on the situation or organizations" cultural structure.

"We don"t see things as they are but we see things as we are" (Bayda, teacher, 2003). This statement actually reveals the human nature and is applied to cases where management and judgment needed in predicaments. We see things as how they seem to us and generally act according to them which cause many destructive experiences in human history. I realized that understanding what is behind the scene is essential to make the best judgment in situation like in "Sitting". Many of us in the class would move the pair if they were the owner of the house however this is not the solution to this problem. Understanding by asking questions to the couple why they were sitting there gives tip to sort this problem out. The owner tried the other ways because he did not see the scene as it is. Poorly managed his behaviors, consequently the problem did get bigger. Unlike the animals, nature of humankind is programmed to necessity to learn everything in order to act and make decisions. I learned the way we are grown, the culture we live in cultivate us to make our decisions. In class all of us have diverse approaches to analyze cases in readings. Problems are characterized how each one of us raised in different cultures. I also learned that a well constructed hierarchy would lead us to make better important decisions as managers. Being skeptical is not always good to our environment in terms of decision making. Therefore gaining data about the circumstances we face is an essential choice to make healthy decisions as managers. In the case of "shooting an elephant" we had the harmony of different behaviors. Many of us thought of shooting the elephant because of the group pressure that irresistibly felt. Here apache theory of wisdom takes place. If the mental condition is resilience the person who has the control would not care about the pressure and not shoot the elephant or shoot not to kill. These dilemmas makes it harder to make decision, so in this situation managing the situation with consequences and having a hierarchy in deciding what action to take gets you through the best solution on a particular case. I also learned that power is another issue in making decision making. Therefore consequences are more important than process of decision making as managers. The police with the elephant rifle in his hands have the power and need to know how to use it.
To sum up, making the right decision is always essential for managers in order to consider the consequences which could not always be harmless.
