Long term drug rehab saved my life and it could be the exact thing that you need to save yours. Are you the type of person who has tried every way in the book to stop using only for it to end in relapse after relapse.

I went to so many treatment and rehab centers over the past 30 years that I lost count. If this sounds like you then maybe you need to seriously think about going to long term drug rehab.

I would recommend that you look for long term rehab program that you can stay from 6 months to 2 years anything less and you will do the same thing you did every other time you tried to stop using drugs and that is to use again. The reason for the length of time is simple we need to change the way we live and behave and this does not happen overnight.

If you are thinking about this I would suggest that you go to conventional rehab first so you can be detoxed properly because they do not do this in long term drug treatment. I would also let the long term place know of your plans so they have a bed ready for you as soon as you finish with your detox.

Now when you get to long term rehab you will more than likely have to stay on the property for the first couple of weeks. While there you will attend group, lectures, and have individual one on one addiction therapy. The place where I went we could go to outside 12 step meetings if we went with another resident. We were also required to attend 90 meetings in 90 days and get a job or go to school. If you got a job you were required to pay a percentage for rent but it was not a whole lot.

I chose to go to school and I am still going to school. I am getting very close to getting a bachelors degree in Social Work. I stayed the full two years and I know this sounds like a lot to you but you have to look at what you are getting in return and that is you are getting your life back!!
