Throughout the history, there have been many management theories developed to give a better understanding to our organizational world. There is no perfect way of managing the work environment. The culture of the work environment is changing as the new generation is growing to join the work force. Don Tomscott stated that "there is a powerful new force that is changing business and the world. That force is a group of people "" the Net Generation". The Net generation is the children of the baby-boomer generation. In the workforce environment the Net generation could get along with the baby boomers but not the generation Y that is because the baby boomers understand the Net generation better as they parent them. The culture is changing as more members of the net generation join the workforce. The skills that Net generation has as Don believes are going to be the most tools to be most of the problems that are faced in the work environment. He is quite right that we are the most intelligent generation ever that the capabilities of our skills are quite enormous with the concentration of new technology that is producing every day. Which means that it is soon enough to have managers from the Net generation and I believe that this generation would be better at managing and be more flexible as the generation is not a supporter of pressure and stress. He is really a good analyst of business environment. Effective managers are the ones who alter the behaviors of their subordinates and bosses and at the same time take care of the production and market. There Is a stereotype that is scaring of the boss and/or feeling inferiority complex because of these the relationship with the bosses are dried. The business is all about making money and the focus is really on crunching numbers and increasing sales. Time to time people feel emotional distressing situation by their co-workers or bosses. This is the reason why many people are not productive in working environments mostly related to relationships. There is a way of freeing yourself from these traps, change your reaction to situations. Managers need to have good relations with their bosses as they are the one who can launch managers to the rest of the organization. Understanding your boss is a way to control by gaining what they ask for and objectives are. There are many different types of bosses; extreme, difficult, absentee and others. Dealing with different types of bosses has dissimilar strategies to control the relationships. Then you analyze yourself, what you are expected of, what you need, your style, you are at the right place or not and so on. The role has to fit you, it is alleged then you do not have to wear it like as many subordinates to be able to impress bosses. People skills again play a big importance in the context. I wonder as dealing with people of different types is the main objective of business then why don"t we have any self-help type of books are not read as textbooks. We need to have a course that teaches what to do in different situations as they are the most effective feature that sets us as a failure or success. By changing reactions to the happenings around you could turn the arrows of the stress and try to manipulate the behaviors of the bosses and subordinates.
