subject: Castles That You Must Visit When In Dorset [print this page]

This is the original castle built in the 12th century for the Bishops of Salisbury. During the English civil war, the castle was torn down by the parliamentary forces back in the days. Now, what is left standing is the carcass of war. The drawbridge is still working but one who visits there can only bask in the experience of emptiness that the castle brings. The skeletons of this castle stands, but not the wonderful interiors akin to the other castles.
