subject: Getting That Euphoric High The Legal Way [print this page]

With the stress of everyday living become slightly more unbearable each day, many have turned to recreational drugs that aim to provide temporary release from the trappings of everyday stress. Methamphetamines, ecstasy pills, and stimulants are generally thought to have a euphoric effect on those who consume them. While psychoactive substances such as those mentioned are illegal in many countries, there are other substances that can legally provide the same euphoric effect.

Psychoactive drugs such as methamphetamines have been illegal in most countries for years because of the devastating effects they have on the central nervous system. They are chemical substances that prey on the central nervous system where it alters brain function. This results in drastic changes in perception, mood, consciousness and behavior. These drugs may be used recreationally, to purposefully alter one's consciousness, for ritual or spiritual purposes, or therapeutically as medication. Psychoactive drugs are often abused, or used in excessive doses because they induce subjective changes that the user would feel pleasant, such as alertness or a feeling of euphoria.

Because many psychoactive drugs such as meth and other stimulants are banned or considered illegal in most countries, many have begun looking for alternative sources of induced euphoria. This brought about an increase in the demand for legal prescription drugs that simulate the uplifting effects psychoactive drugs.

Colloquially known as party pills, many euphoric pills contain the active ingredient BZP, which are also illegal in many countries including the United States. This is why alternative forms of the party pill have been proliferated in order to replace the illegal substances. These legal alternatives are currently experiencing a tremendous increase in commercial interest.

Legal euphoric pills often resemble ecstasy and speed by affecting serotonin and dopamine levels. Party pills are part of a class of drugs that have been in use for centuries to treat worm infections in the digestive system. In modern times however, these drugs are used more for their recreational benefits.

While there are pills that can safely induce that euphoric high, it is important that users know the difference between the legal and illegal substances. After all, illegal substances are banned for a reason, and that reason often involves negative effects to ones own physical and mental health.
