subject: Name Badges Have More Uses Than You Might Think! [print this page]

There are a great many occasions where name badges have proven to be most useful, I'm sure we can all think of a few where they weren't used and would have been a great idea. It's a strange fact but some people are very good at remembering people's names and others not so much. Perhaps it gets worse with age? Some people say that if you are introduced to someone for the first time it is a good idea to repeat their name back to them whilst looking at them; this is supposed to develop an association in the mind of their face and that word. Well, maybe it does and maybe it doesn't, but I'm sure that if they had a name badge on, the whole embarrassing process of trying desperately to remember their name would be taken away.

Name badges of course have a wide variety of uses, lets have a look at a couple that spring to mind, probably the most considered use for a name badge is at a conference. Everyone meets in a hotel reception where they are given their name badge to wear and of course some sort of welcome pack, they then awkwardly mingle making painful small talk about their industry and joke about having to wear name badges all the while being silently thankful that everyone is wearing them and they don't need to remember a single name, whether they would want to or not. So that later, after the day's presentations, meetings and workshops are over and everyone gathers in the hotel bar for drinks and nibbles before dinner, they can easily chat to strangers and have a constant reminder of that persons name emblazoned on their lapel.

Name tags and badges are used in all kinds of situations, and in all of these cases they help people identify band recognize others. Think of sport? This use for the name badge, although it isn't strictly a name badge is the name of a player printed onto the back of his team top/vest/shirt/or jersey " depending on the sport of course, this along with the players squad number helps to identify to the crowd, fellow players and match officials the position, name and in some cases rank of the person on the field/court etc. They are more often than not stitched onto the back of the top above the player's number, just below the collar, so that the name scrolls out across their shoulders, a particularly useful position considering the length of some player's names.

Name labels have all kinds of uses, and luckily there are numerous styles and types available to suit almost any need. School and college events can also benefit from the use of name badges. When moms and dads visit the school to check their kid's progress, teachers having name tags can help them to find the people they need to talk to without embarrassment and endless asking around! No matter what you need name labels for, contacting a reputable, professional provider of meeting supplies is a great way to find out your options.
