subject: The Fear Of Poverty [print this page] We have read stories from childhood and the ending goes something like this, " And they live happily ever after", yes the human desire for a better ending. It is this deep seated problem of the fear of poverty. I am convince after reading, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill on the chapter ' The six Ghosts of fear" that this fear knows no discrimination. Have a conversation with someone who goes to church and is struggling financially, and ask why are they in this predicament and listen to the answer, " If it is God's will". Yet in the same book that they treasure so dearly, and rightly so, it says, He will give you the desire of your heart (1 Timothy 6:17). " The fear of poverty is without doubt, the most destructive of the six basic fears... Nothing brings man so much suffering and humility as poverty! only those who have experienced poverty understand the full meaning of this" One will cling to a Dead-End job with dear life because of this fear. That Executive will work him or herself to death because of this fear. when the economy turn south and the unemployment goes up the fear of poverty rears its ugly head. We must all face this fear of poverty head on and conquer it or it will conquer us.
