subject: Inkjet Canvas - Inkjet Canvas Options 101 [print this page]

If you want to print on canvas for a great photo turned into a family heirloom or any other reason, then inkjet canvas is a good way for you to go. Printing on canvas is not actually that hard when you have the right materials. You can get cotton or polyester canvases for the inkjet printers, and you can create fabulous items. When you decide to go shopping for this canvas for the inkjet, understand that each roll of canvas comes in a different size and that some canvas types are different than others in terms of how they perform when printing. You will want to examine the differences and make an educated selection.

One thing about these rolls of canvas is that they come in many different sizes. In cotton, the sizes are typically 17, 24, 36, 42, and 44 inches wide each. However in polyester, you get more. In polyester inkjet canvas, your choices include 17, 24, 36, 42, 44, and 60 inches. As you can see, you get one more option all the way up to 60 inches. Depending on your project that you plan to print with your Epson, HP, or Canon printer, this can make a difference.

Notice that we mentioned cotton and polyester inkjet canvas. These are the two materials typically available in these canvases. The 100% cotton option usually is more of a natural white, while the polyester will be a bright white. Both tend to come with a waterproof and instant-dry surface coating on them which make them more durable. A good make of canvas will also be crack-resistant and will stretch well. Both will also be suitable for displaying vivid colours and exceptional print quality. Both are also highly compatible with pigment inks and dye inks for superior colour options.

Purchasing inkjet canvas in a roll for your purposes should provide an excellent product in the end for your use. Choose your canvas carefully, including the width and material choice. If you need 60", you will need to likely go with the polyester for its larger size that is not always available in cotton canvases. Selecting a canvas for the printing projects doesn't have to be difficult, but you do want to choose well for your project, and doing so will enable you to complete your project quickly and with highly satisfactory results. Canvas used through the media of printing is a great new technology that allows people to create beautiful works of art on canvas.
