Headaches were a significant part of my weekly life; but working to your best ability seems impossible with a throbbing headache. Its so hard to give 100% in one's working life when having to cope with yet another headache.
Weekend headaches were often worse than during weekdays, sometimes developing into a migraine headache, even with having taken painkillers frequently it turned out that there was nothing for it but go to lie down in a quiet dark room for a few hours until it subsided, by then there was nothing left of the weekend.
Sound familiar to you?
The cause of headaches is rarely serious, but medical advice should be sought out if you haven't already, just to be sure. Headaches are symptoms not a disease, sometimes they happen for no apparent reason, but nevertheless it can really prevent you enjoying your life at times.
What was the secret to banish those frequent headaches and find a headache cure?
The answers turned out to be quite simple once I had them, as did the headache cures too. First were some simple lifestyle changes, that were made easily, I seldom consciously think about them now and have forgotten about them up to the point when I have a headache that indicates my relapse into the old ways, but these small changes made a big difference.
Why not just take painkillers?
Evidence shows the frequent use of painkillers may result in increasing the number of headaches you experience, they have named these types of headaches rebound headaches", these result as a withdrawal symptoms. This doesn't mean you have a serious addiction problem, but a headache may result as a withdrawal symptom, this can prompt you to use analgesic medication again, creating a situation you do not recognize as a vicious circle! How often might you have to take painkillers to be affected? it does vary from person to person and the type of drug taken but 3 or 4 times a week might be enough to warrant concern.
The secret to success?
The first step is to learn about headaches, find out what types of headaches there are, identify the ones you suffer from and what causes them if possible.
The secrets to my success in beating headaches can be learned with ease once you have more information about headaches. The first stage to stopping my migraines was finding the trigger, which turned out to be a combination of red wine or port with milk chocolate late at night. Just by not having this combination of drink and food prevented nearly all migraine headaches overnight and by a few simple steps to reduce muscle tension in my neck and shoulders tension headaches were pretty much eliminated too.
