subject: To Say The Htc Legend Is Brilliant Would Be A Huge Understatement! [print this page]

The HTC Legend is a powerful Android Smartphone which has sent a real tremble through the Smartphone market with its boundary pushing technology and sophisticated, classy design. The phone dons a full aluminium chassis, though it only weighs 126 grams, the front benefits from a very bright 3.2 Super AMOLED touch sensitive display which has astonishing colour reproduction, it produces astounding contrast ratio and is entirely capacitive, the dimensions of the Legend are 112 x 56.3 x 11.5mm.

The Legend runs the Android 2.1 operating system which does a great job of supporting the HTC Sense user interface, with this powerful combination the device runs ultra smooth from screen to screen, supports pinch and spread zoom and the touch sensitive keyboard is very receptive which allows for quick messaging, e-mailing and contact entry. The Leap feature allows for all seven of your home screens to be viewed simultaneously and the 3.2 inch Super AMOLED screen is intuitive and provides you with a colour enhanced experience when navigating through the phones various Smartphone applications, the HTC has some insightful features and the in-built accelerometer is perfect for messaging and viewing web pages in landscape mode.

One fantastic feature the HTC possesses is the clever G-sensor, when receiving a phone call the device recognises when it has been picked up and automatically lowers the ring volume, when the handset is placed face down the ringer is completely muted. Another useful attribute is the FriendStream application which can be accessed by a dedicated widget, when activated it launches a range of social network feeds including Facebook and Twitter, from here you are never out of the loop when it comes to the latest status updates, picture uploads and news, the People widget gives the option to pool a group of friends for quick access to calls and messaging services or even status updates.

The HTC Legend has powerful web capabilities with 3G and Wi Fi web connections offering up to 7.2 Mbps download speeds, EGDE and GPRS are also supported for fast data transfer. The web browser interface is astute and intuitive and certainly plays its part in the whole experience, as the pinch and spread zoom system is in place for better page viewing.

T he multi media player on the Legend is quite impressive too, a whole range of music files can be played back via its 3.5mm headphone jack; mp3, m4a,wma,wav and more. The camera is also quite useful; a 5 mega pixel digital camera has been installed for photography fans with auto focus and flash as standard and it has a wide screen image capture for our true photographers, its capable of video capture for our up and coming film makers! The video player supports many formats including 3gp and mp4 and the playback quality is very clear and colourful on the advanced AMOLED screen.

To say the HTC Legend is brilliant would be a huge understatement; HTC has some keen ideas when it comes to developing a Smartphone. The Legend is a wholehearted attempt to create a next generation Smartphone, so perhaps other companies may follow there example? Lets hope so!
