Every Mastermind Marketer states that Lists build businesses online. Do you understand how important it is for you to have your own? Why, because it is the foundation for every online business. There are thousands of books and websites about what you need to do to develop your opt list, but there are four main things you need to do, to do it right. First, place a webform on your page, above the fold and again under the content. Have it resemble a mini capture page with dashes around it in a box that draws attention to it. Dont believe the notion that asking for information on the first page is too soon. People have a short attention span. If you dont grab their attention and direct them to opt in or do something within a few seconds of visiting you site, you will have lost the opportunity. Wouldnt you want those few seconds to be filling out your opt-in form? Your form doesnt need to be complex. Just ask for a max of 4 pieces of information making sure that 2 be a name and email address. To get them to give that information, offer some type of newsletter, bonus, or incentive that helps them solve a problem that they may be having. Soon after they typing in their information, send them the incentive that you promised. Second, dont over do it when it comes to the design of your capture page. Make sure you message is clear, yet attractive. Dont be conserned with elaborate graphics because tests show that content out-pulls graphics any day of the week. Next, provide great content. Make the information that you deliver significant to your vistor. What information can you give that can help them solve a problem that they are having. What can they learn from you? Help people as much as you can. In your articles or newsletter, answer an interesting question that one of your followers wrote to you. Not only are you helping that person, you may be helping others with the same problem as well. Lastly, NEVER sell your list. Keep your list to yourself and keep it free of spam. Once the trust between you and your customer is gone, its gone for good. This rule should NEVER be broken. If what are looking for is a way to make some quick cash by auctioning off your list, then you shouldnt be creating a list to begin with.About the Author:
