subject: 2 Things To Remember When Planning To Go On A Road Trip [print this page]

There are many places to visit during the summer especially in the United Kingdom and planning for this trip with friends or a family can be a delight especially if you plan to travel by car. Here are some things that you may find useful for you when you decide to the road trip:

- Make your car road worthy for the summer. Often times, we do forget to do maintenance checks for the automobile most especially after the winter season. What you have to remember is that there are certain things you must replace post winter like the anti freeze liquids for your radiator. You would need to drain out this and replace the contents of the radiator with water and if you wish, cooling supplements. These are formulated liquids- the one that looks green meant to cool your radiator for the hot summer months. Regarding air conditioning, as long as the air conditioner still cools the car and the air con fan belt doesn't sound up, you may not have to go to a car air con repair shop to have it checked. But if it does sound a bit rusty or squeaky or the cooling system isn't cooling you to your standards, then by all means go to a car air con repair shop. You can always find car air con repair shops in different places in United Kingdom as they are found on the Internet. Should you happen to be travelling when your car air con feels and sounds funny, there are many good car air con repair shops for you to bring your car in for a check up. Some repair shops are a national franchise as well so it would not be a problem for servicing it. The other thing you must do is to check the brakes, motor oil, transmission and brake fluids. If you are handy with tools, then you can do it yourself in a self help garage. Otherwise, have it brought to a full service garage to have all these things checked.

- Set up an itinerary. It would be good to have a plan of action when doing this travel. By finding out where you want to go, you can actually research on where to eat, sleep, and visit before you travel. The internet is a great resource for finding that necessary information. Although you can try to wing it and be carefree and not make any reservations, this cannot be done if you are travelling with your family. You need to know where the local grocery is, where the hospitals are, and what places are there that are family friendly. By being prepared, you are sure to have a great vacation.
