Located just 72 kilometres away from Mendoza City, year after year, the town of Tupungato receives numerous visitors coming from every Mendoza Hotel. Despite of the distance from other tourist centers, Tupungato has earned a deserved place in the main touristic circuits of Cuyo region.

From the entrance to Tupungato it is possible to appreciate the monumental Mount Tupungato, where its height of 6650 metres overtakes every visitor. Placed on the border between Argentina and Chile, this mount is only 70 kilometres away from the town, and it is ringed by the Tupungato Volcano Provincial Park. A huge assortment of different activities can be done inside the park; one these proposals is an excursion to the Mount Tupungato, as well as some ecological tours, horseback ridings and fishing excursions in the Plomo River.

Like each one of the fields in Cuyo region, the Tupungato Valley has a large amount of crops, particularly grapes, nuts, apples and peaches. Many wineries are settled in the zone like the one that belongs to Marchi Family or the Masi Tupungato winerie, worldwide famous for its Masi Tupungato Passo Doble wine. Wine production is Mendozas main economic activity. Its wines are tasted and enjoyed in restaurants in the most unthinkable places, making these Cuyo products a symbol of a cosmopolitan life style.

Equally to every department of the province of Mendoza, Tupungato has its own Harvest Festiival. That celebration is a show that no one can miss, with lots of artistic performances and wine. Another important festivity is theTupungatos Jubillee Week, which is featured in November with lots of representative acts and parades on every street of the city.

For those who enjoy the beauties of Mother Nature and outdoor activities, the city of Tupungato has hot springs, recently restored and renewed by the municipal authorities. What is more, there is a municipal camping, which is open every day of the year; and an endless variety of restaurants, bars, wineries and hotels waiting for visitors from all over the globe.

Cuyo region is an amazing place to spend the holidays. Each season comes and exposes a wide range of alternatives to have a great time. Particularly, the city of Mendoza, its hotels, parks, restaurants and wineries propose many different ways to enjoy the stay and fall in love with this paradise of nature and culture.
