Whether it is poor pay, lack of appreciation, or a dictatorial boss, many employees across the United States are leaving their current jobs. The most common misconception is that employees leave their jobs for money reasons. As stated above, a variety of reasons exist as to why employees are leaving their current jobs, such as inadequate compensation, dissatisfaction with supervisor/team leader, insufficient recognition, lack of advancement, and job dissatisfaction. Two surveys (Salary.com and Sirota Survey Intelligence) were reviewed in this article, with each sharing different data. Overall, organizations and businesses need to recognize and work on the issues presented in this article in order to retain their best and brightest people.
