Florida Career College (FCC) are adding a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program to its Brandon campus.

"Since the baby boomer age group is aging, physical injuries and medical concerns faced by the general people who call for physical therapy, there are then great career opportunities in this area," said Dr. Kory Thomas, DPT, program director Program Director of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at FCC Brandon. "This should be a grand addition to our program and degree choices and also furthers Florida Career College's purpose to train pupils for careers that are in demand so they move quickly from the classroom into the workforce."

"Physical Therapist Assistants assist those of all ages who have health-related problems that hamper their quality of life," said Thomas. "I am incredibly thrilled to start this new program at the Brandon campus."

Florida Career College School of Nursing is adding a brand new transitional course for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who desire to become Registered Nurses (RNs).

"This should be a fabulous addendum to our School of Nursing curricula," stated FCC Boynton Beach Executive Director Michael Schwam. "Our Associate's Degree Registered Nurse series began in August and is crammed to capacity. These programs are incredibly vital to us since our purpose at Florida Career College is to prime students to transfer straight from the classroom into jobs that are mostly in need." The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services guesses that the national shortage of RNs should be projected to get to twenty pct by 2015. The Florida Center for Nursing claims that the existing state scarcity of RNs might build up to 52,000 by 2020, with South Florida as the geographic part with the uppermost need.

"Among rising opportunities and work prospects for nurses in South Florida, we offer the teaching and practical instruction that our pupils will call for in order to achieve something," said Maxinee Black-Arias, RNC, MS-HRM, MSN, Dean of Nursing for Florida Career College. Presently, Boynton Beach is the lone FCC campus with the School of Nursing. The school's 9th and latest campus, Boynton Beach spans 35,183 square feet, including 9,000 square feet of classroom and laboratory space devoted to the School of Nursing and the 5,000 square-foot Spa at The College, which is open to the public and then provides a choice of beauty treatments.
