Amsterdam for Two, Please
Amsterdam for Two, Please

Amsterdam is one of the places so far off from the concept of romance, that is so closely related to places like Venice and France, but one might be surprised at the romantic ambiance Amsterdam can offer. When given the chance, it is this unexpectedness that will spark the romance in a relationship when you visit Amsterdam. Amsterdam, similar to that of Venice, is a floating city and it is in these waterscapes, during quiet night walks with the canal as background, that many couples feel a sense of tranquility with each other. There are also many cafes where couples can hang out in just having endless conversations in the afternoons or they can also stroll through the different mazelike areas of Spanjer en van Twist. And when thats over and done with, couples can head off to the several parks such as Sarphatipark, Flevopark, Vondelpark, Westerpark and the Snippendaal Garden and bask in nostalgic recalls. After everything, laze the remaining day away in one of Amsterdams minimalist hotels and watch the sunset together on a city thats bright with new perspective.

Combining Different Cultures at De Pijp, Amsterdam

Joining in Amsterdams Love for Film

Going to the cinemas is one of the favorite local pastimes of Amsterdammers and should not be missed when youre a visiting tourist. Amsterdammers are so adamant about their love for cinema that theyve even sponsored many of the major film festivals such as the Cinekid Festival and the International Documentary Film Festival. Amsterdam has a great love for independent films evident in the numerous cinemas found in the area, most having great ambiance and historical significance such as the elegant Path Tuschinski, the Het Ketelhuis, Pathe de Munt an Rialto Filmtheater. Theres a cinema run by students, Kriterion. Plus, theres the Film Museum in Vondelpark which shows many art films and classic movies all year round. Although theres a language barrier involved, it is recommended that you sit through a Dutch film just to get a feel for their local art, or you can also opt to see Hollywood films in the several cinemas which offer them. The love for movies is so obvious here that even a simple experience should be worth your while.
