As we already that almost all business organizations whether it is big, small or midsized are using computers nowadays to store their important data. But do you really know where this data ultimately gets stored? It gets stored in the memory. Computer data storage which is also known as memory refers to some computer components and recording media which perform the work of information retention. Despite the technological advancements and new innovations that have taken in the field of the electronics, there is almost no device available in the market which can work without proper memory equipment. The progress and achievement of our country depends on the sources of the memory.

The first equipment that was used to store computer data effectively was the density disks or floppy disks. These were introduced in the market in the early seventies. Floppy disks were eight inches in size and have the ability to store around eighty kilobytes of data on one disk. These devices consisted of a disk that have magnetic particle embedded in it. The way of moving of these magnetic particles helped in storing of the data. The size of the first floppy disks was big at first but gradually it got smaller, going from the 8 inch to three and a half inches, but the working process remained the same. During this period, several advances which revolved around changing software also took place. One of the examples of manipulating data was with zip files. These files allowed people to use algorithms which helped in compressing and storing more data on the disk.

The first revolutionary change in the field of data storage technology came with the entrance of the CD's in the market. This device used optical storage where the information gets stored on the disk by making pits on the surface of the CD for storing of the data. Some of the hallmarks of CD's were that they were very tough, resistant to scratching & data degrading and had the capacity to store a huge amount of data.

Nowadays people have started using DVD's and memory sticks for the storing of data because they are small, light, cheap and extremely durable.

There are a number of retailers present in the market which are engaged in providing high quality data storage devices including 184 pin pc2700 DDR memory, 512mb pc2700 DDR DIMM memory, Dell Desktop Memory, Mac pro 8gb memory etc. that are sourced from the market leading companies like Compaq, Acer, IBM, Dell, Toshiba, Sony etc. at highly competitive prices.
