More than 32 million mobile phones and smartphones by Nokia, Samsung, and Motorola are powered by Symbian OS. A number of smartphones like HP iPaQ Pocket PC phones and some Motorola smart phone use Windows Mobile.

Thanks to the rapid development of wireless technologies, a whole new set of mobile wireless services and applications are set to empower people by providing communication and computing anywhere and at anytime. Additionally, smart phones, the next-generation multifunctional, multiwireless mobile phone will likely be the mechanisms that deliver these services and applications.
