Alright having said that, let's tackle these classic problems right away!
How to troubleshoot LCD monitor with no power condition:
The number one thing I would do is analyze the entire inverter and power section. I would make sure that there are no leaking or oozing capacitors. In many cases, the problem is often caused by faulty electrolytic capacitors alone.
But it's a good idea to view the main section of the power side in case there are any burned up or broken components, faulty solder connections, among other things.
Another thing I would always do is perform a vital components check-up procedure. I would take out my flyback tester to test the switch mode power supply main winding.
Aside from the SMPS main winding, other vital components that have to be tested are the fuse, the power FET, and diodes (secondary).
How to troubleshoot LCD monitor with short-lived display condition:
For this condition, I would first try to isolate the problem. The objective is to determine whether the main board or inverter is the problem factor. The process is simple
First, I would make sure that after the screen goes off, the inverter IC gets the supply voltage. If supply voltage flow is present, then you better get your testing gear ready and start checking the components situated in the inverter board!
