Earlier, having a landline in any form at home was a great source of pride; however, today we have cordless phones with us that come in all size and colours. Needless to say, they work in the most fantastic way. Cordless phones are boon for those people who prefer to have long chats with their loved ones, alone and away in privacy.

The craze for cordless phones is very much due to the fact that these communication handsets are mobile which is not exactly the case in the landline sets which work within a restricted range.

Moreover, a cordless handset can be taken to any other room or garden and even outside of your house. Therefore, they are far more convenient and comfortable option of communicating. The concept is more or less same as the landline one, but the only difference is that one can enjoy long chats while strolling around the premises of his/her house. Though cordless phones are no more that popular as they were, when they were introduced in the market, thanks to the mobile phones that has taken over the world with storm. Thus, gone are the days when, a cordless phone was considered to be a status symbol but they still are very much in fashion.

Today, everyone prefers to keep Cell phones than having a landline connection. In the technical language, Cordless phones are the wire-line phones with wireless handset which works within a certain range. It connects the caller and receiver through radio waves which are regulated through a base station. The base station is the only element which differs from these phones from cell phones. As compared to the initial models which were bulky handsets that came in the market and come with a bare minimum battery backup, the present-day ones can give any different type of communicating device a run for their money.

But gradually with time, technology advancement took place, smaller and sleek looking handsets came in the market thus, carving a niche for themselves. Combined with greater battery backup these modern-day handsets are no more bulky in size and are extremely attractive to say the least.

Earlier, the handsets used to get heated up with its continuous usage, however, nowadays there is no such case.

But there is a drawback of using such phones mainly because that they are run by electricity. Thus, in case of electricity failure, cordless phone stops functioning (although these days they are provided with UPS) which is not the case in the normal landline instrument thus, leaving it at service of user 24 X 7.

With every product comes a particular set of advantages and disadvantages.Cordless Phones are good for people who stay at home and like to chat on phones for long hours enjoying the taste of a mobile phone.
