subject: Average Salaries For Medical Transcription Are Good [print this page]

I was a single mother with one child, working nights so that my son would have me home during his waking hours, trying very hard to make ends meet. Shortly after my son turned four, my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. A long term illness that can span decades if its onset occurs in the elderly, my father was not so fortunate. He was diagnosed at the age of 57. A few months had passed when I realized that time would soon run out for him, and that I needed to spend as much time with him as possible. I made the decision to quit my steady job, and I became self-employed alongside my fianc racing horses. This was a time consuming but still flexible endeavor. It allowed me the freedom to turn the horses over to him and take care of my father near the end of his life, and I'm so happy that I was able to be there with him.

Now I have added another child to the family, and she is still too young for school. I do not like the idea of putting her in daycare and not raising her myself. I have struggled with the horse business and staying at home with my children, and we are just barely able to keep the bills paid. In order to prepare myself and my family for the future, it has become necessary for me to return to work. However, going back to working at the stables every day means leaving home and my littlest angel. For many months I have investigated different avenues for working at home, and the average salaries for medical transcription. I settled on medical transcription as the most likely road to accomplishing my goals.

Working from home as a medical transcriptionist will allow me to be available for school events, and the needs of my daughter. I will not have to deal with the issue of summer vacation and who will care for my son during this time. I will not have the stress of having to dress and feed everyone and get out the door for work by a certain time. I have worked in the corporate world, and I know that the environment is not for me. I have worked in retail, and in a nursing home. I have experienced many different jobs, and excelled at whatever I set my mind to, but nothing has been as rewarding as motherhood. I am looking forward to working in the MT field because I feel it is the perfect balance between work and family. SN:OTG9Y2ESY

In seeking out training in the MT field, I have looked at dozens of web options. I have also investigated classes at the local college. After hours of research, I believe that Future MT is the best choice for me. The convenience of online classes makes sense for me. I can dedicate time when I have it, and still be free to meet the needs of my family. Also, I can learn the material at my own pace, studying while my children sleep, and even on the weekend. I look forward to being able to complete the course in far less time than it would take me if I went to a school for weekly classes. Also, because we live in difficult financial times, Future MT makes taking online medical transcription courses easier by having the lowest payment plan of any of the online courses I investigated. This will allow me to get started immediately, instead of trying to scrape together two or three thousand dollars at once, which would be difficult at best.

I am looking forward to the learning process, as I have always had some interest in the medical field. Because I have cared for my father during his illness, and several other family members along the way, I have been exposed to many medical terms, and encountered plenty of doctors whose accents were difficult to understand. I am prepared to work hard, and can hardly wait to finish the course and get started. I am confident that Future MT will assist me in finding employment, and that my career will start off on the right foot. Once I have started this journey, I hope that a steady stream of income working from home as a medical transcriptionist will help me to meet the goals I have set for myself and my children. In today's world, I feel it is important to be educated in a growing field. I hope that my MT career will span many years, and allow me to one day purchase a new car and my own home, as well as sending my children to college. My father left this world when he was only 63 years of age, much too young. The best lesson that he could have ever taught me was that if you want to change your life, you need to start TODAY.
