subject: Replica Watch Review – Omega Planet Ocean Asian 21J Version [print this page]

I just got my replica Planet Ocean from an online replica watches dealer. I placed order one week ago and everything went smooth. As this was my first replica purchase, I decided to start with a relatively basic/cheap model-a Planet Ocean 45.5mm with Asian 21j Movement, AR-coated mineral crystal and Swiss casing. It just costed my $108 including the shipping.

At first sight, the watch was petty excellent. It was petty well packed and thus came very sound. The weight is very close to the gen, not too light or heavy. And I am happy that the crystal is so clean both outside and inside that no any additional cleaning is needed. I can not pick any flaw about the overall finishing. The bezel works very smoothly as well. The crown screws and unscrews smoothly, and setting the time and date feels refined.

Moving on to the bracelet, here is where my good impressions start to fade. At first glance, it's a nice looking piece. However, the truth is that it is poorly finished in spots and has a broken pin that makes it unusable. Additionally, there are three links with burrs on them which prevent them from moving freely back and forth. The clasp is held to the watch with split pins, and the clasp itself is aggravating. I had no choice but replace this bracelet with a rubber strap that used to service one of my gen waches.

The only other significant problem I have with this watch is the bezel insert, which doesn't line up with the dial markings. At first I thought the whole insert was out of whack, as that is somewhat common with inexpensive watches with rotating bezels. But in places the markings line up, and in others it doesn't, rendering it impossible to line up perfectly even if I were to attempt to straighten it up. Seems as though it's just a bad printing/manufacturing job. As I said, though, this is a problem not so uncommon on watches in this price range, so it's one I'll be able to eventually accept.

Bracelet and bezel insert woes aside, I still feel I do not waste a penny on this watch and it will be a piece that will get lots of wrist time.
