subject: Go To Guernsey And Have A Great Time At A Guernsey Hotel. [print this page]

When you stay at a Guernsey hotel, you are at the perfect destination to sample a heady mix of stunning scenery and the best of contemporary living. Set closer to the coast on Normandy than to mainland England, it is a superb place for the perfect holiday.

The island of Guernsey has beautiful beaches perfect to access from you Guernsey hotel. As well as walking on the beautiful sand, Guernsey's west coast can also provide excellent surfing and windsurfing conditions, great for those who enjoy being active. You can go further afield as the sea is perfect for maritime activities such as sailing, diving and if you fancy a bit of fishing you can go out on a boat for some deep sea angling.

The island is small, only nine miles long and three miles wide, so it is easy to get around. Cycling is a fantastic way to enjoy the wonderful scenery, though Guernsey is small enough to get around on foot. You could hire a car from your Guernsey hotel if you feel like relaxing, as the roads, though small, are not busy. There are no trains on Guernsey but the bus service is reliable and there are plenty of taxis.

Though small, there are plenty of places to eat on Guernsey if you want a change from your Guernsey hotel. Most international cuisines are represented but not surprisingly some the best places to eat are French, though they do vary in price. What could be nicer than sitting down to a lovely French meal on Guernsey with a glass of wine, while enjoying the marvellous views? Try a restaurant in St Peter Port, the island's capital, which is a bustling harbour town with a mixture of architectural styles that tell the story of the region's changing fortunes. Here you will find bistros and restaurants of all types, though as you would expect from an island like Guernsey, the seafood is definitely to be recommended. For a different gastronomic experience try the local crab or scallops from one of the beach kiosks.

Guernsey is a wonderful place for a picnic. There are some wonderful areas to eat and they are so quiet and peaceful .Guernsey picnic food is wonderful too. Why not simply grab a loaf of French bread and some cheese or pate, with a bottle of wine this makes a wonderful lunchtime meal to be eaten before going back to your Guernsey hotel to prepare for an evening spent in the pubs along the waterfront of St Peter Port, or maybe sampling cocktail or two in Laska's.
