subject: China Mold Industry Seeking The Development Transformation [print this page] Recently, Mr Wu Bingshu, the secretary-general of China Die & Mould Industry Association, made a general introduction to the reporters for the current status of the die & mold industry development, he also analyzed the goals of industrial development transformation.
As reported that the import & export scale of China mold industry has achieved 4 billion U.S. dollars, and the import and export keep an equal level as 2 billion dollars. In 2009, the sales volume of mold industry has been close to 100 billion yuan. As for mold export, China's major destination countries and regions are HK, USA, Japan, Germany and India in turn; the origin regions of mold export are mainly Guangdong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu, followed by Shanghai, Shandong, Tianjin, Fujian, Liaoning, Beijing and Jilin. And for mold import, the source countries and regions are Japan, Korea, Germany, Taiwan, USA; the largest import destinations are Guangdong, Jiangsu and Shanghai, next Tianjin, Beijing, Liaoning, Jilin, Fujian, Shandong and Zhejiang. The sum of mold manufacturer, factory and plant in China has reached to 30,000 with nearly one million employees.
It is worth noting that the structure proportion of China's mold industry is quite reasonable: about 37% stamping mold, 43% plastic mold, about 10% casting mold (including die-casting mold) and the rest 10% including forging mold, tire mold, glass mold, etc. And the proportion is in accord with industrial developed countries. For example: Mega Mould and Demark Blow Mold.
As for industrial layout, China's mold industry is expanding to inland and North China from more developed Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta regions, appearing some new product-concentrated regions such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Changchun-Dalian, Chengdu-Chongqing, Wuhan and Middle Anhui. The centralized development of mold industry has been a new feature, and the Mold Zones are emerging constantly. Now in China there are total 15 Mold Zones have been established or taken shape, more places are under planning. In East China many concentrated production bases have been formed. There are precision die mold production bases in Kunshan and Wuxi; auto mold cluster production bases in Botou and Wuhu; and large-scale precision mold cluster bases in Ningbo, Huangyan, Shenzhen, Dongguan.
